New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Albany, New York 11/04 - 1/07.
New York State flood mapping and applying FEMA GIS data formatting standards. Utilize ESRI products as well as specialized programs to develop flood maps.


Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation, Liberia, Africa 9/03 - 1/04.
Active outside consultant. Served with the United Nations in Liberia creating and updating geographical and logistical data for the ongoing humanitarian effort. Also developed GPS and GIS training for government ministries and NGOs.


Municipalidad de Punta Arenas, Punta Arenas, Chile  4/01 - 6/03.
Consultant developing a tax parcel and building permit GIS database for the City of Punta Arenas, Department of Planning.

Gondwana Forest Protection, Punta Arenas, Chile 12/99 - 6/03.
Provide GIS analysis identifying new road problems, forest types, areas for conservation. Collection of field data in remote locations.  Gathering public data and developing new projects and cooperative efforts with private and public agencies.  Additionally, developed brochures, web pages and funding proposals.

Fundacion Chol Chol, Nueva Imperial, Chile 12/99 - 9/2000.
Provide GIS assistance with Mapuche forest planning projects. Provide GIS training in Spanish.  Map production and database development.

Dine' CARE, Window Rock, AZ 9/97 - 1/99.
Provided GIS analysis identifying roads for closure, ponderosa pine restoration as well as sacred and archeological site protection.  Gathering data and developing new projects and cooperative efforts with tribal and federal agencies.  Additionally, developed brochures, web pages and funding proposals.

Hopi Water Resources, Flagstaff, AZ 6/99-1/99.
Developed GIS databases to support newly acquired ranches as well as water and land litigation.

Provided GIS support on Navy and comercial waste remediation projects. Utilized MS Access, EVS, ArcView and AVENUE to model and display remediation status. Linkage large chemical results databases to locations for contamination analysis, progress and client reporting.

Syracuse Metropolitan Transportation Council, Syracuse, NY 9/95-9/97.
ESRI GIS products used for efficient transportation/landuse planning. UNIX setup and system administration. GIS modeling utilized parcel based landuse, zoning and impacts of growth on traffic patterns.  Additionally, I pushed for and initiated the county Bicycle/Pedestrian program.

Collection of hydrological field data for salmon habitat research project.

M.S. Environmental Resource Engineering. Concentration on GIS, remote sensing and photogrammetry.Completed a thesis: "Using GIS to Target land for Acquisition or Easement Protection." The project utilized ESRI products, Idrisi and Aldus Freehand to combine archeological, tax, soils, hydrography and Natural Heritage data for identifying land for protection.
