Annie Too, modern sloop

Designed by Bill Lapworth and built by Willis Boyd and Bill, she was launched as Rocking Chair III and is the only L-45 ever built to plans. Designed for ocean racing, she was very successful in Southern California, including winning the 1958 San Diego to Acapulco race. Willis sold her in 1961 to Dr. Emmitt Rixford of Berkeley, California and she became Annie Too. (Dr. Rixford’s father had owned a famous 1887 Stone-built cutter named Annie) Annie Too came to Port Townsend in 1994 and has been racing, day chartering and enjoying the Northwest since then!

Thursday sail information

Annie Too will be sailing off of the waterfront and the guests will meet at the NW Maritime Center Dock and be transferred to the boat by inflatable. She will end up docked at the festival. Alyce says, “Annie Too has a very roomy comfortable cockpit and is a great boat to sail on”. Annie Too can take up to 6 guests of all comfort levels.

Ted Pike, Annie’s skipper, is very gracious and knows about all the waterfront activities; boats, people, organizations, he knows all of the stories.
