Sumatra, a concordia yawl

Internationally known helmsman and yacht designer C. Raymond Hunt designed this sleek 39-foot, 10-inch yacht. The builders, Abeking and Rasmussen, used hollow spruce for the spars, mahogany for the house and hull, laminated oak for the frames and oak for the keel. She is bronze-fastened.

Thursday Sail Information

Sumatra will be sailing off of the waterfront and the guests will meet at the NW Maritime Center Dock and be transferred to the boat by inflatable. She will end up docked at the Festival.

Michael Delagarza will be skippering Sumatra; his son Jackson is on the sailing team. She is a lovely sleek racing yawl, like Lotus: they should have fun sailing together. Sumatra will carry 3-4 people who are comfortable on a heeling boat with more motion and want to be more than just passengers.
